After a 13 year career on the LPGA Tour, Patty began her journey of teaching and coaching golf. Within a few years Patty became involved with First Tee, an international not-for-profit youth development organization that uses golf to teach life skills to kids. Patty has held various roles coaching with First Tee, is one of nine First Tee Master Coaches and has served as First Tee National Trainer since 2007. Working with First Tee shaped Patty’s teaching and coaching philosophy to keep golf both simple and fun.
Focusing on helping students achieve their goals drives Patty to keep a student-centered approach in every element of coaching and teaching. Patty believes that by keeping her focus on what a player CAN do verses what they can’t do AND having fun along the way, learning happens faster. In the winter, Patty takes this philosophy to the ski slopes as an adaptive ski instructor helping people of ALL abilities discover what they can do on the slopes AND on the golf course! Patty currently works with the DAV to develop access to learning strategies and tips specifically for disabled veterans with various special needs.
In addition to experience on the LPGA Tour and First Tee, Patty continually seeks to add to her knowledge base and is an LPGA Professionals Class A member, a US Kids Certified Instructor, and a Plane Truth Level l instructor.
